I met a beautiful girl last night
She was broken down, crying, a mess
Her hair covered half of her face
The flow of her tears covering the rest

I approached and gave a friendly embrace
And a shoulder to vent her tears
She kissed me on the hand and said
No one had done that for her in years

She told me she 'd spent all her life
Giving her love but never received
I told her that the feeling was mutual
And instantly our hearts were at ease

Even though I never saw her face
She promised we would meet again
Then I woke up smiling and remembered
How it felt when she kissed my hand!
